Aero: Gabrielle Johnson – France 2014 – City Life
Walking down the city streets of France was slightly dissimilar from many cities in the United States. Coming from a small town, it was interesting to see the hustle and fast pace of France. It seemed as if, every street was loaded with cafes, bakeries, and supermarket; which I found extremely delightful. Being given the ability to experience the city life of france gave me a first hand look into the daily lives of the natives. I noticed that exactly around lunch time the streets were teaming with people; eating and shopping all over the city.
One afternoon, Kelsey and I took a stroll through the town of Vitre and saw the serene parks and gardens in the middle of the town. It was lovely to see the contrast between bustling streets and tranquil parks and cathedrals. One of my favorite places was the community gardens. Families all around the city could come and start their own vegetable gardens. This allowed families with limited space the chance to harvest their own veggies and herbs.
Traveling around the city was a breeze as well. Everyday I was there, I found at least one more new thing that I loved just about the city of Paris and I’m sure when I go back I will continue to explore and discover new things to love. The flow of life there is so much more relaxed and laid-back. It’s something I never knew I needed until I lived in it and it’s something I don’t want to let go of.
