Je prépare la nourriture dans la cuisine.
I prepare the food in the kitchen.
une assiette : plate
Je mets le sandwich dans une assiette.
I put the sandwich on a plate.
un bol : bowl
En France, on prend souvent du café dans un bol quand on est chez soi.
In France, people often drink coffee in a bowl when at home.
une bouteille : bottle
Il veut acheter une bouteille d’eau.
He wants to buy a bottle of water.
une carafe / une cruche : pitcher / jug
Il y a une carafe de jus sur la table.
There is a pitcher of juice on the table.
un couteau : knife
Elle coupe la viande avec un couteau.
She cuts the meat with a knife.
des couverts : utensils; cutlery; flatware
Les jeunes-mariés ont reçu des couverts comme cadeau.
The newlyweds received some cutlery as a gift.
une cuillère / une cuillère à café / cuillère à soupe : spoon / teaspoon / tablespoon
Je mange les céréales avec une cuillère à soupe.
I eat cereal with a tablespoon.
une fourchette : fork

He’s eating some cake with a fork.
une louche : ladle
Je sers la soupe avec une louche.

une nappe : tablecloth
