When we use both Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns together the Indirect comes first!

¿Quién te lo dijo?
Who told it to you?

María me lo dijo.
María told it to me.

Placement before and after verbs are the same as Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns. Remember that placement doesn’t affect meaning!

– Before the conjugated verb
– Attached after the infinitive.

However, both object pronouns can be attached to the end of an infinitive or present participle. When this happens, an accent mark will need to be added to the final vowel of the root of the infinitive.

El maestro va a mostrárnoslo.
The teacher is going to show it to us.

José va a decírmelo.
José is going to tell it to me.

Finally, certain Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns cannot be placed next to each other. (It breaks certain phonetic rules).

LE & LES cannot go next to LO, LA, or LOS.
when this happens, LE & LES become SE.

¿Se lo dijo a Manuel?
Did you tell it to him (Manuel)?

Si, se lo dije.
Yes, I told it to him.
