une agglomération : urban area
Beaucoup de jeunes quittent la campagne pour vivre dans une agglomération.
Many young people leave the countryside in order to live in an urban area.
une autoroute périphérique : beltway (around a city)
Il y a un embouteillage sur l’autoroute périphérique.
There is a traffic jam on the beltway.
la banlieue : suburbs
Beaucoup de gens font la navette entre la banlieue et la ville.
Many people commute between the suburbs and the city.
un bâtiment : building
